Have you ever been upset with or felt dissapointed by God? I mean, you have prayed and dilligently sought Him for your life’s directions or a specific thing. You have fasted and received a word from Him to do something. You obey His instructions but in the end you feel let down because He didn’t come through the way you thought He would or when you feel you needed Him to the most. This is a very hard place to be because in your heart you know God is capable of all things but you can’t help but feel abondoned because He could easily resolve your situation instantly but is choosing not to. I resonate with you. I know exactly how you feel and I am here to encourage you today to not lose hope. Isaiah 55:8-9 (NKJV) says
Sometimes the Lord allows us to suffer a little longer, not because He’s a bad Father who just loves seeing us hurt but because He’s using that experience to build character, patience, humility, perseverance, and strength within us. Other times He wants to test our faith and trust in Him. You see, it’s so easy to love and praise God when things are going great, but will you still love and trust Him when you feel disappointed by Him or when you feel He’s not working fast enough? Because He is strengthening you through this trial, you will be stronger and more at peace to withstand the next trial.
It is ok to be honest with God about our disappointments but let us not forget that He is still God, He loves us, and has a good plan for us. We may not see or understand the plan right now. Life may seem bleak and hard right now and you are so close to throwing in the towel. But remember when we are weak, He makes us strong. Let us surrender our inadequacies to Him so He may strengthen us. We are not meant to carry the weight of life alone and in due time, if we persevere and not turn away from Him, He will work it all out for our good.
Let us be intentional about praising God and surrendering to Him daily even if we don’t feel like it. Just as we trust Him for salvation and eternal life, let us also trust that He has our best interests at heart and will deliver us from the situation that’s trying to take us out in due time or at least give us enough grace to deal with it. Let us trust Him with all our hearts and not lean onto our own understanding, as Proverbs 3:5 suggests. Remember that hardship is a part of life. With or without God life is hard and with or without God trials will come; but with God, we have hope and peace that He alone can give.
I cannot promise and neither does the Bible promise an easy, smooth sailing life with no difficulties, but it does promise that as you surrender to God, He will walk with you through your trials. He will not leave or forsake you (even if it feels that way). He will give you peace that surpasses all understanding and He will keep you. I encourage you to continue to seek Him. Continue to praise Him in every circumstance (good, bad, or indifferent), and continue to trust Him. He is working behind the scenes, and sooner or later, He will manifest His glory in your life.
Be blessed.
Prayer
Lord, I feel overwhelmed right now with life’s troubles. If I’m honest with you, I sometimes feel abondoned, forgotten and feel like I just cannot get a break. But Lord, I am intentionally choosing to trust in your word. I am choosing to praise you in every circumstance, including the bad. You have proven yourself to me before and I believe you will come through for me again. Please calm my heart and give me peace, even if the outcome is not what I expected. Have your way. In Jesus name, Amen.

Even if I should choose to boast, I would not be a fool, because I would be speaking the truth. But I refrain, so no one will think more of me than is warranted by what I do or say, or because of these surpassingly great revelations. Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:6-10 NIV https://bible.com/bible/111/2co.12.6-10.NIV
